Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the battery ground (negative) cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.
  2. Remove the throttle body air inlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Element Replacement in Engine Controls - 3.4L.
  3. Remove the engine mount struts. Refer to Engine Mount Strut Replacement .
  4. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  5. Remove the three-way catalytic converter pipe from the right (rear) exhaust manifold. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement in Engine Exhaust.
  6. Remove the right front wheel and tire. Refer to Wheel Removal in Tires and Wheels.
  7. Remove the right engine splash shield. Refer to Splash Shield Replacement - Engine in Body Front End.

  9. Remove the engine mount lower nuts.
  10. Notice: In order to avoid oil pan damage and possible engine failure, insert a block of wood that spans the width of the oil pan bottom between the oil pan and the jack support.

  11. Raise the engine, using the floor jack stand with a block of wood.

  13. Remove the engine mount bracket-to-oil pan bolts.
  14. Remove the engine mount and the engine mount bracket.

  15. Object Number: 96010  Size: SH
  16. Remove the engine mount upper nuts.
  17. Remove the engine mount from the engine mount bracket.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 96010  Size: SH
  1. Install the engine mount to the engine mount bracket.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the engine mount upper nuts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the engine mount upper nuts to 47 N·m (35 lb ft).

  5. Install the engine mount bracket with the engine mount to the oil pan.
  6. Install the engine mount bracket-to-oil pan bolts.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the engine mount bracket bolts to 58 N·m (43 lb ft).

  8. Lower the engine, using the floor jack stand.

  10. Install the engine mount lower nuts.
  11. Tighten
    Tighten the engine mount lower nuts to 43 N·m (32 lb ft).

  12. Install the right engine splash shield. Refer to Splash Shield Replacement - Engine in Body Front End.
  13. Install the right front wheel and tire. Refer to Wheel Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  14. Connect the three-way catalytic converter pipe to the right (rear) exhaust manifold. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement in Engine Exhaust.
  15. Lower the vehicle.
  16. Install the engine mount struts. Refer to Engine Mount Strut Replacement .
  17. Install the throttle body air inlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Element Replacement in Engine Controls - 3.4L.
  18. Connect the battery ground (negative) cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.
