DEFINITION: This table diagnoses an inoperative seat select switch when the switch is in the LEFT position the RH seat moves.

  1. Place the seat select switch in the LEFT position.
  2. Disconnect the seat control module connector C2.
  3. Connect a DMM from battery positive voltage (B+) to the seat control module connector C2 cavity K (BRN).

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

Go to Step 3

Backprobe the console seat switch connector C3 with a DMM from battery positive voltage (B+) to cavity K (BRN).

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

Go to Step 6

Repair the short to ground in CKT 1674 (BRN). Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Replace the seat control module.

  1. Place the seat select switch in the RIGHT position.
  2. Backprobe the console seat switch connector C3 with a DMM from battery positive voltage (B+) to cavity K (BRN).

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

  1. Disconnect the seat control module connector C2.
  2. Connect a DMM from battery positive voltage (B+) to the seat control module connector C2 cavity K (BRN).

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

Repair the open in CKT 1674 (BRN) between the seat control module and the console seat switch. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
