Did you perform the Power Windows System Check?

  1. Disconnect inoperative window switch.
  2. Using a digital multimeter (DMM), backprobe between B+ to terminal B of the inoperative window switch harness connector.
  3. Turn the ignition switch on.

Does the voltage measure within the specified range?

10-15 V

Go to Step 6

Check for a poor connection or open in the following:

    • (LR) CKT 169.
    • (RR) CKT 171.
    • (RF) CKT 167. Refer to Intermittents and Poor Connections Diagnosis in Wiring Systems.

Is there a poor connection or open in the circuit?

Repair poor connection or open in:

    • (LR) CKT 169.
    • (RR) CKT 17 1.
    • (RF) CKT 167.

Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Replace the LH front power window switch. Refer to Front Side Door Window Switch Replacement .

With the DMM in the same place, press and hold the inoperative window down switch, on the LF window switch.

Does the voltage measure within the specified range?

10-15 V

Go to Step 7

Test for a short to ground in the following:

    • (LR) CKT 169.
    • (RR) CKT 171.
    • (RF) CKT 167.

Is there a short in the circuit?

--

Go to Step 8

Repair a short in the following:

    • (LR) CKT 169.
    • (RR) CKT 171.
    • (RF) CKT 167.

Is the repair complete?

Using a DMM, probe between B+ to terminal E of the inoperative window switch harness connector.

Does the voltage measure within the specified range?

10-15 V

Test for a poor connection or open in the following:

    • (LR) CKT 168.
    • (RR) CKT 170.
    • (RF) CKT 166.

Is there a poor connection or open in the circuit?

With the DMM in the same place, press and hold the inoperative window up switch, on the LF window switch.

Does the voltage measure within the specified range?

10-15 V

Test for a short to ground in the following:

    • (LR) CKT 168.
    • (RR) CKT 170.
    • (RF) CKT 166.

Is there a short in the circuit?

Repair a short in the following:

    • (LR) CKT 168.
    • (RR) CKT 170.
    • (RF) CKT 166.

  1. Using a DMM, probe between terminal B of the inoperative window switch harness connector and ground.
  2. Turn the ignition switch on.

Does the voltage measure within the specified range?

10-15 V

Repair poor connection or open in circuit 1307 between S502 and terminal B of the inoperative window switch harness connector. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Reconnect the inoperative window switch connector.
  2. Disconnect the inoperative window's regulator motor.
  3. Using DMM, probe the inoperative window regulator motor harness connector terminal A to terminal B.
  4. Turn the ignition switch on.
  5. Press the inoperative window switch UP and then DOWN.

Does the voltage measure within the specified range?

10-15 V

Replace the inoperative window's regulator motor. Refer to Power Window Motor Replacement .

  1. Disconnect the inoperative window switch connector:
  2. Test for an open or short to ground in the following:
  3. • (LR) CKT 669.
    • (RR) CKT 671.
    • (RF) CKT 667.

Is there an open or short to ground in the circuit?

Repair open or short to ground in the following:

    • (LR) CKT 669.
    • (RR) CKT 671.
    • (RF) CKT 667.

Test for a open or a short to ground in the following:

    • (LR) CKT 668.
    • (RR) CKT 670.
    • (RF) CKT 666.

Is there an open or short in the circuit?

    • (LR) CKT 668.
    • (RR) CKT 670.
    • (RF) CKT 666.
