Front Floor Console Armrest Replacement Pontiac

1. Open the armrest bin lid.
2. Remove the armrest bin lid fasteners (2) fastening the armrest to the hinge.

Remove the armrest.

1. Align the armrest to the hinge.

Install the fasteners (2).

2. Close the armrest bin lid.

1. Remove the storage bin. Refer to Front Floor Console Compartment Replacement .



2. Remove the fasteners (1) retaining the console compartment door hinge to the console.
3. Partially close the console compartment door, slide the door forward in order to clear the console.

Remove the door assembly.

4. Remove the hinge from the door. Refer to Front Floor Console Compartment Door Hinge Replacement .

1. Install the hinge to the door. Refer to Front Floor Console Compartment Door Hinge Replacement .
2. Install the door to the console assembly.

Put the door hinge in the closed position, install door forward of mounting location then slide rearward in order to allow hinge to clear the console.

3. Open the door.



4. Align the hinge to the console.

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

5. Install the hinge fasteners (1).

Tighten
Tighten the fasteners to 1.6 N·m (14 lb in).

6. Install the storage bin. Refer to Front Floor Console Compartment Replacement .
