  1. Disconnect connector C2 of the powertrain control module (PCM).
  2. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.

Inspect for a suspected coolant temperature gauge condition.

Was there a problem with the coolant temperature gauge?

Inspect for a suspected oil pressure gauge condition.

Was there a problem with the oil pressure gauge?

Inspect for a suspected volts gauge condition.

  1. Disconnect the instrument cluster connector C2.
  2. Measure the resistance between the instrument cluster connector C2 terminal A9 and ground.

Is the resistance less than the specified value?

5 ohms

  1. For the U50 cluster, disconnect the instrument cluster connector C1.
  2. Test the resistance between the instrument cluster connector C1 terminal B13 (BRN) and ground.

Is the resistance less than the specified value?

5 ohms

Test CKT 35 (DK GRN) for a short to ground.

Was there a problem with CKT 35?

Test CKT 25 (BRN) for a short to ground between the generator and the instrument cluster.
