Steering Wheel Controls System Operation Buick

Vehicles equipped with steering wheel controls allow you to control certain radio and HVAC functions from the steering wheel.

Seek

Press the seek button in order to advance or lower radio station settings. Press and hold the seek button for 2 seconds in order to engage the scan function. Press the seek button again in order to stop scanning.

Scan

Press the scan button in order to scan through the preset radio stations. The scan feature is similar to the P Scan button. The radio will advance to the first preset station and remain for a few seconds before advancing to the next preset station. Press the scan button again in order to stop scanning. If a preset station has weak reception, the radio will not stop at the preset station.

AM-FM

Press the AM-FM button in order to change the radio to AM, FM1, or FM2.

Vol

Press the up arrow in order to increase the radio volume. Press the down arrow in order to decrease the radio volume.

SRCE (Vehicles Without HVAC Controls)

Press the SRCE button in order to play a cassette tape or compact disk (if equipped) when the radio is playing. If both a tape and CD are in the radio, the radio will select the tape first. Press the SRCE button in order to play the CD.

Mute (Vehicles Without HVAC Controls)

Press the mute button in order to silence the system. Press the mute button again in order to turn on the sound.

Temp (Vehicles With HVAC Controls)

Press the up arrow in order to increase the temperature setting. Press the down arrow in order to decrease the temperature setting.

Vol

Press the up arrow in order to increase the radio volume. Press the down arrow in order to decrease the radio volume.

Seek

Press the seek button in order to tune the radio to the next strong radio station. When playing a cassette or compact disc (if equipped), press this button in order to hear the next selection. There must be at least 3 seconds of silence between selections on the cassette in order for this feature to work.

Prog

Press the program button in order to tune the radio to the next preset radio station. When playing a cassette tape, press this button in order to hear the other side of the tape.

Fan

Press the up arrow in order to increase the HVAC fan speed. Press the down arrow in order to decrease the HVAC fan speed.

Temp

Press the up arrow in order to increase the temperature setting. Press the down arrow in order to decrease the temperature setting.

Seek

Press the up or down arrow in order to go to the next higher (up) or lower (down) radio station. If a cassette tape is playing, press the up arrow in order to search for the next selection on the tape. Press the down arrow in order to search for the previous selection on the tape. If a compact disc is playing, press the up arrow in order to go to the start of the next track. Press the down arrow in order to go to the start of the current track.

AM-FM

Press the AM-FM button in order to change the radio to AM, FM1, or FM2. If a cassette tape or compact disc is playing, the tape or CD will stop playing and the radio will play.

Preset

Press the preset button in order to tune to the next preset radio station. When a cassette is playing, press this button in order to hear the other side of the tape. When playing a compact disc, press this button in order to hear the tracks in a random order. Press this button again in order to turn off the random play feature.

Volume

Press the up arrow in order to increase the radio volume. Press the down arrow in order to decrease the radio volume.

Play

Press the play button in order to play a cassette or a compact disc when the radio is playing.

Mute

Press the mute button in order to silence the system. Press the mute button again, or any other radio button, in order to turn on the sound.
