Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 650768  Size: SH
  1. Remove the power steering hose to the shut-off valve bracket fastener.
  2. Remove the shut-off valve to the outlet pipe fasteners.
  3. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.

  4. Object Number: 601160  Size: SH
  5. Remove the shut-off valve outlet pipe (1) to the secondary air injection (AIR) manifold fasteners (2).
  6. Remove the outlet pipe (1) from the vehicle.
  7. Clean the gasket surfaces as necessary.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 601160  Size: SH
  1. Install the outlet pipe (1) to the vehicle.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the outlet pipe (1) to the AIR manifold fasteners (2).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the fasteners to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  5. Lower the vehicle.

  7. Install the shut-off valve to outlet pipe fasteners.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the fasteners to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  9. Install the power steering hose to the shut-- off valve bracket fastener.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the fastener to 9 N·m (80 lb in).
