Removal Procedure

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.

  2. Object Number: 290670  Size: SH
  3. Remove the electrical connector (3) from the throttle position (TP) sensor (2).
  4. Remove the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve. Refer to Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve Replacement .

  5. Object Number: 255249  Size: SH
  6. Remove the 2 TP sensor mounting bolts (4) from the TP sensor (5).
  7. Remove the TP sensor (5) from the throttle body (7).
  8. Remove the O-ring (6) from the TP sensor (5). Discard the O-ring.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 255249  Size: SH
  1. Install the new O-ring (6) onto the TP sensor (5).
  2. Install the TP sensor (5) on to the throttle body (7).
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the 2 TP sensor screws.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 2.3 N·m (20 lb in).

  6. Install the electrical connector (3) to the TP sensor (2).
  7. Install the EGR valve. Refer to Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve Replacement .
