Radiator Outlet Hose Replacement 3.5L V6 LX5

Removal Procedure

Tools Required

J 38185 Hose Clamp Pliers


    Object Number: 289168  Size: SH
  1. Partially drain the engine coolant from the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
  2. Use J 38185 in order to remove the inlet hose clamp from the radiator.
  3. Disconnect the inlet hose from the radiator.

  4. Object Number: 289166  Size: SH
  5. Disconnect the inlet hose clamp from the thermostat housing.
  6. Remove the inlet hose.

Installation Procedure

J 38185 Hose Clamp Pliers


    Object Number: 289166  Size: SH
  1. Install the inlet hose.
  2. Connect the inlet hose to the thermostat housing.
  3. Use J 38185 in order to remove the inlet hose clamp from the radiator.

  4. Object Number: 289168  Size: SH
  5. Connect the inlet hose to the radiator.
  6. Use J 38185 in order to install the inlet hose clamp from the radiator.
  7. Fill the cooling system with engine coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .

Removal Procedure

Tools Required

J 38185 Hose Clamp Pliers

  1. Partially drain the engine coolant from the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
  2. Remove the left diagonal brace. Refer to Front End Sheet Metal Diagonal Brace Replacement in Body Front End.

  3. Object Number: 308973  Size: SH
  4. Disconnect the inlet hose from the radiator using the J 38185 .

  5. Object Number: 308970  Size: SH
  6. Disconnect the inlet hose from the thermostat housing using the J 38185 .
  7. Remove the inlet hose.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 308970  Size: SH
  1. Install the inlet hose in position and align the marks on the hose.
  2. Use J 38185 in order to remove the inlet hose clamp from the radiator.

  3. Object Number: 308973  Size: SH
  4. Connect the inlet hose to the radiator using the J 38185 .
  5. Install the left diagonal brace. Refer to Front End Sheet Metal Diagonal Brace Replacement in Body Front End.
  6. Fill the cooling system with engine coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
  7. Inspect for leaks.
