SUBJECT: DOOR ADJUSTMENT - REVISED SERVICE PROCEDURE DOOR HINGE SYSTEM

MODELS/YEARS 1991-93 NINETY EIGHT 1992-93 EIGHTY EIGHT

DOOR HINGE SYSTEM

The following revised door hinge system description should be noted at pages: 10-6-13 in the 1991 Ninety Eight Service Manual 10-6-3 in the 1992 Eighty Eight/Ninety Eight Service Manual 10-6-3 in the 1993 Eighty Eight/Ninety Eight Service Manual

The hinges are bolted to the door and to the body. For door adjustment procedures, refer to "Door Assembly' in this bulletin.

DOOR ADJUSTMENT

The following revised door adjustment procedure should be inserted at pages: 10-6-13 in the 1991 Ninety Eight Service Manual 10-6-12 in the 1992 Eighty Eight/Ninety Eight Service Manual 10-6-16 in the 1993 Eighty Eight/Ninety Eight Service Manual

1. To perform fore-aft or up-down adjustment, remove hinges from pillar and door and proceed as follows:

a. Ream stud holes in pillar side of hinges to allow adjustment.

b. Reinstall hinges to pillar and door, leaving nuts on pillar side of hinge loose.

c. Align door as needed.

d. Tighten hinge nuts to 47 N.m (35lbs.ft.).

2. To adjust door in or out, loosen nuts on door side of hinge and align door as needed. Tighten nuts to 47 N.m (35lbs. ft.).
