V-5 AND HR-6 COMPRESSOR RETURN PROGRAM

MODELS/YEARS ALL 1989 AND 1990 MODELS EXCEPT CUSTOM CRUISER WAGON

This bulletin cancels and replaces Dealer Management Bulletin 89-1-09. This bulletin has been revised to include the 1990 model year.

Effective immediately, all 1989 and 1990 V-5 and HR-6 compressors replaced under warranty are to be returned to:

Harrison Radiator Division, GMC Moraine Operations Dock 31 Dryden Road Moraine, Ohio 45439

Attn: Quality Assurance

Please return all parts as soon as the repair order is completed. You do NOT need to wait until the claim is paid. When shipping the part(s), please protectively wrap and include a legible copy of the repair order.

This program will be in effect for the 1990 model year or until you are notified to stop the returns.

Parts should be shipped pre-paid (DO NOT SHIP BY AIR). Claims for freight reimbursement are to be submitted once a month. Initiate one repair order for all freight charges using the Vehicle Identification Number and mileage of one vehicle which had a part failure.

Claims are to be submitted using Labor Operation T4627 with Trouble Code 92. Freight expense must be listed in the sublet column. The dealer is responsible to retain and make available upon request the original paid receipts for freight costs.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
