INSTRUMENT CLUSTER EXCHANGE -REPAIR PROGRAM. Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera 1986

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1986 Models

GM of Canada is pleased to expand the Exchange/Repair Program for digital and quartz speedometers and Driver Information Centre (D.I.C.) modules to include the 1986 models. This program provides repaired component assemblies in exchange for inoperative ones at NO CHARGE during the new vehicle warranty period. For out of warranty applications the program offers these same assemblies at a cost substantially below new replacement units.

When a replacement assembly is required for a 1986 model the attached chart should be referred to. Please pay special attention to those clusters where only the speedometer assembly is exchangeable. The remaining portions of the cluster such as fuel gauge, temperature gauge, etc, are replaceable through the normal parts and warranty channels.

In addition, Bulletin 86-0-104 dated October 15,1985, should be referred to when requesting and returning an exchange unit.

lst Design: May be identified by pulling off one of the switch knobs. Stem is smooth and round with a square hole in the end.

2nd Design: Stem is round and laddered to a narrower end with a rod in the end.

To distinguish between AC and Yazaki clusters, pull trim plate. The AC logo will be on the one piece lens along with two caution labels. Yazaki has no logo or caution labels, but has a three (3) piece lens.
