Removal Procedure

Tools Required

    • J 28467-360 Engine Support Fixture
    • J 28467-90 Engine Support Fixture Adapters
    • J 36462 Engine Support Adapter Leg
    • J 35953 Engine Support Foot Modification
  1. Remove the hood panel. Refer to Hood Replacement in Body Front End.
  2. Remove the electric engine cooling fan. Refer to Engine Cooling Fan Replacement in Engine Cooling.
  3. Install the J 28467-360 .
  4. Install the J 28467-90 .
  5. Install the J 36462 .
  6. Install the J 35953 .
  7. Raise the vehicle. Suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  8. Remove the right front tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  9. Remove the generator and mounting bracket. Refer to Generator Replacement in Engine Electrical.
  10. Remove the engine mount nuts at the engine mount bracket. Refer to Engine Mount Replacement .
  11. Raise the vehicle. Suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.

  13. Remove the transaxle bracket retaining bolts at the transaxle.
  14. Remove the engine mount bracket retaining bolts at the engine.
  15. Remove the engine mount bracket.

Installation Procedure

Tools Required

    • J 28467-360 Engine Support Fixture
    • J 28467-90 Engine Support Fixture Adapters
    • J 36462 Engine Support Adapter Leg
    • J 35953 Engine Support Foot Modification

  1. Install the rear engine mount bracket.
  2. Install the bracket to engine retaining bolts.
  3. Tighten

    1. Tighten the side of the block engine retaining bolts to 58 N·m (43 lb ft).
    2. Tighten the front of the block engine retaining bolts to 102 N·m (75 lb ft)

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the transaxle retaining bolts on the rear engine mount bracket.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the transaxle retaining bolts to 75 N·m (55 lb ft).

  6. Lower the vehicle.
  7. Remove the J 28467-360 .
  8. Remove the J 28467-90 .
  9. Remove the J 36462 .
  10. Remove the J 35953 .
  11. Lower the engine.
  12. Raise the vehicle. Suitable support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  13. Install the rear engine mount nuts on the rear engine mount bracket. Refer to Engine Mount Replacement .
  14. Install the generator. Refer to Generator Replacement in Engine Electrical.
  15. Install the right front tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  16. Lower the vehicle.
  17. Install the electric engine cooling fan. Refer to Engine Cooling Fan Replacement in Engine Cooling.
  18. Install the hood panel. Refer to Hood Replacement in Body Front End.
