Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the air cleaner outlet resonator. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Resonator Replacement .

  2. Object Number: 725541  Size: SH
  3. Disconnect the ignition coil connectors (1) from the ignition coils.
  4. Remove the retaining bolts (2) from the ignition coils.

  5. Object Number: 725545  Size: SH
  6. Remove the ignition coils (1) from the engine.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 725545  Size: SH

    Important: Make sure that the ignition coil seals are properly seated to the valve cover.

  1. Install the ignition coil (1).

  2. Object Number: 725541  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the ignition coil retaining bolts (2).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the ignition coil retaining bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  5. Replace the ignition coil connectors (1).
  6. Install the air cleaner outlet resonator. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Resonator Replacement .
