The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

B1001 stored in the SDM. This is most common when a BCM or SDM is replaced in service.

Recommendation/Instructions:

Follow the Procedures listed below:

  1. Use Tech 2 scan tool
  2. Build vehicle year and body
  3. Select body section
  4. Select BCM
  5. Select Special Functions
  6. Set up SDM serial number in the BCM.
  7. Select BCM SETUP soft key.
  8. Clear all history codes.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
