Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 712800 Size: SH
  1. Remove the 2 screws that retain the insulator panel to the instrument panel (IP).
  2. Release the insulator panel retaining clip from the IP substrate.
  3. Lower the insulator panel.

    4. Object Number: 763321 Size: SH
  4. Remove the 2 data link connector (DLC) retaining screws.
  5. Remove the DLC from the insulator panel.
  6. Remove the courtesy lamp from the insulator panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Courtesy Lamp Bulb Replacement in Lighting Systems.
  7. Remove the splice pack from the insulator panel.
  8. Remove the hazard and turn signal flasher from the insulator panel. Refer to Hazard and Turn Signal Flasher Replacement in Lighting Systems.
  9. Remove the insulator panel from the IP.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 763321 Size: SH
  1. Position the insulator panel to the IP.
  2. Install the hazard and turn signal flasher to the insulator panel. Refer to Hazard and Turn Signal Flasher Replacement in Lighting Systems.
  3. Install the splice pack to the insulator panel.
  4. Install the courtesy lamp to the insulator panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Courtesy Lamp Bulb Replacement in Lighting Systems.
  5. Position the DLC to the insulator panel.

    6. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  6. Install the DLC retaining screws.

    7. Tighten
    Tighten the DLC retaining screws to 2.5 N·m (22 lb in).

  7. Install the insulator panel tabs to the cowl slots.

    8. Object Number: 712800 Size: SH
  8. Raise the insulator panel to the IP.
  9. Install the insulator panel retaining clip to the IP substrate.
  10. Install the 2 screws that retain the insulator panel to the IP.

    11. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 2.5 N·m (22 lb in).
