GM Service Manual Online
For 1990-2009 cars only

The body is a unitized body welded to the frame, without standard frame-to-body mounts. The engine, front suspension and lower control arms are tied to the body frame.

The chassis components, the suspension lower control arms and body frame, the body components, and the engine compartment side panels, share mounting provisions with the front suspension system. The suspension towers must be dimensionally correct in relation to the remainder of the underbody in order to maintain specified suspension strut and caster/camber angles.

Observe proper welding techniques during repair procedures of the underbody components in order to preserve the overall strength of the body. Properly rustproof and seal all underbody components when the repair procedure damages or destroy the original rustproofing or sealing. Use a quality air dry primer such as corrosion-resistant chromate when rustproofing critical underbody components. Do not use combination type primer-surfaces.
