Improper frame insulator installations may result in the following conditions:

    • Popping noises
    • Structure shaking
    • Road noise
    • Squeaks
    • Snapping noises

The conditions may sometimes be caused by the following 2 mistakes:

    • The wrong part is installed.
    • The insulator is not properly tightened.

An improperly located insulator rubbing on the frame rail may cause squeaks.

If a problem is diagnosed as an insulator problem, perform the one or both of the following 2 tests:

    • A color code test, in order to determine the correct usage
    • A body bolt torque test

If the wrong insulator is used, replace the insulator with the correct component.
