Secondary Air Injection Pipe Replacement - Bank 2 Shutoff Outlet Pipe - Single Pump

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the bank 2 AIR shut-off valve. Refer to Secondary Air Injection Control Valve Replacement - Bank 2 .
  2. Remove the 2 nuts securing the shut-off valve to the bank 2 AIR outlet pipe
  3. Remove the bank 2 AIR outlet pipe.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the bank 2 AIR outlet pipe and new gasket to the bank 1 AIR shut-off valve.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the 2 nuts securing the bank 2 AIR outlet pipe to the bank 2 AIR shut-off valve.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the 2 nuts to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  5. Install the bank 2 AIR shut-off valve. Refer to Secondary Air Injection Control Valve Replacement - Bank 2 .

Secondary Air Injection Pipe Replacement - Bank 2 Intermediate Pipe - Single Pump

Removal Procedure

    Caution: To avoid any vehicle damage, serious personal injury or death when major components are removed from the vehicle and the vehicle is supported by a hoist, support the vehicle with jack stands at the opposite end from which the components are being removed and strap the vehicle to the hoist.

  1. Raise the vehicle.
  2. Remove the bank 2 intermediate pipe/hose from the AIR pump.
  3. Lower the vehicle.
  4. Loosen the pinch clamp connecting the bank 2 intermediate pipe/hose to the bank 2 shut-off valve.
  5. Remove the bank 2 intermediate pipe/hose.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the bank 2 intermediate pipe/hose.
  2. Install the pinch clamp connecting the bank 2 intermediate pipe/hose to the bank 2 shut-off valve.
  3. Caution: To avoid any vehicle damage, serious personal injury or death when major components are removed from the vehicle and the vehicle is supported by a hoist, support the vehicle with jack stands at the opposite end from which the components are being removed and strap the vehicle to the hoist.

  4. Raise the vehicle.
  5. Install the bank 2 intermediate pipe or hose and clamp the pipe hose to the AIR pump.
  6. Lower the vehicle.
