Front Floor Console Compartment Replacement Buick

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the console assembly. Refer to Console Replacement .
  2. Remove the console accessory housing. Refer to Console Rear Trim Plate Replacement .

  3. Object Number: 492560  Size: SH
  4. Remove the console lower air duct fasteners (2).
  5. Disengage the lower air duct from the upper air duct.
  6. Remove the lower air duct from the console.

  7. Object Number: 492559  Size: SH
  8. Remove the upper air duct fasteners (1).
  9. Remove the upper duct from the console.

  10. Object Number: 492561  Size: SH
  11. Remove the console compartment fasteners (1).
  12. Carefully spread the console apart.
  13. Remove the console compartment.

Installation Procedure

  1. Carefully spread the console apart.
  2. Install the console compartment.

  3. Object Number: 492561  Size: SH
  4. Install the compartment fasteners (1).

  5. Object Number: 492559  Size: SH
  6. Install the upper air duct to the console.
  7. Install the air duct fasteners (1).


    Object Number: 492560  Size: SH
  8. Install the lower air duct to the upper air duct.
  9. Install the lower air duct fasteners (2).
  10. Install the console accessory housing . Refer to Console Rear Trim Plate Replacement .
  11. Install the console assembly. Refer to Console Replacement .

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 482015  Size: SH
  1. Remove the fasteners (1) from the storage bin.
  2. Partially pull the storage bin out of the console.

  3. Object Number: 482147  Size: SH
  4. Disconnect the electrical connector (1).
  5. Remove the lamp (2).
  6. Remove the storage bin.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 482147  Size: SH
  1. Partially install the storage bin.
  2. Connect the electrical connector (1).
  3. Install the lamp (2).
  4. Install the console storage bin into the console.

  5. Object Number: 482015  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  6. Install the storage bin fasteners (1).
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the fasteners to 1.3 N·m (12 lb in).
