Fuel Pressure Regulator Leak after Installing Fuel Rail from Campaign 04014 - kw 4.0 L47

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom described in the PI.

Some vehicles may exhibit a small fuel leak from the fuel pressure regulator area of the steel campaign fuel rail.

Be sure that the " O" ring back up spacer (included in the rail kit, item 4 in campaign step 2.4) has been installed. If the "O" ring back up spacer is not installed the regulator retaining clip will not compress the regulator to the "O" ring allowing an external leak of the fuel rail.

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed. If these steps do not resolve the condition, please contact GM TAC for further diagnostic assistance.
