    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Install the intake manifold studs in the manifold face.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the intake manifold studs to 5 N·m (44 lb in).

  3. Install a new intake manifold gasket on the intake manifold.
  4. Install the intake manifold.
  5. Install the intake manifold bolts and nuts. Follow the tightening sequence.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts and nuts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  7. Lubricate the fuel injector tip insulators with engine oil.
  8. Install new fuel injector tip insulators.
  9. Lubricate the fuel injector oil rings with engine oil.
  10. Install the fuel rail assembly.
  11. Install the fuel rail stud.
  12. Tighten
    Tighten the stud to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  13. Install a new throttle body gasket.
  14. Install the throttle body and the accelerator control cable bracket.
  15. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts and nuts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).


    Object Number: 825004  Size: SH

    Important: Ensure that the rear metal tab of the EVAP emission canister valve is resting on the power steering pump metal body.

  16. Install the EVAP emission canister valve (2).
  17. Tighten
    Tighten the EVAP canister valve to 22 N·m (16 lb ft).

  18. Install the EVAP emission canister valve tube (1).
