Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the rear door trim panel. Refer to cell-id="11502">Trim Panel Replacement - Side Rear Door> or cell-id="11502">Trim Panel Replacement - Side Rear Door> .
  2. Disconnect the electrical connectors, and pull wiring free of the door.
  3. Support the door.
  4. Remove the check link bolt. Refer to cell-id="11808">Door Check Link Replacement - Rear> .

  5. Object Number: 585360  Size: SH
  6. Remove the bolts (1) which connect the hinge (2) to the door.

  7. Object Number: 316116  Size: SH
  8. Remove the bolts which connect the hinge to the B-pillar.
  9. Remove the hinge.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 316116  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Install the hinge to the B-pillar. Secure with bolts.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the hinge-to-door jamb bolts to 28 N·m (21 lb ft).

  3. Install the door to the hinges (2). Secure with bolts (1).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the door-to-hinge bolts to 28 N·m (21 lb ft).

  5. Install the door check link. Refer to cell-id="11808">Door Check Link Replacement - Rear>
  6. Feed the door wiring through the hole in the door jamb and connect the electrical connector, if equipped.
  7. Install the rear door trim panel. Refer to cell-id="11502">Trim Panel Replacement - Side Rear Door> or cell-id="11502">Trim Panel Replacement - Side Rear Door> .
