Removal Procedure

Caution: To help avoid personal injury, due to a retained load on the brake modulator, the Gear Tension Relief function of the scan tool must be performed prior to removal of the ABS brake modulator/master cylinder assembly.

  1. Remove the brake modulator assembly. Refer to Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Assembly Replacement .
  2. Remove the bracket mounting bolts.
  3. Remove the bracket from the frame.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the bracket onto the frame.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the bracket mounting bolts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bracket mounting bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  5. Install the Hydraulic modulator assembly. Refer to Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Assembly Replacement .
