SERVICE MANUAL UPDATE- SEC. 8C DESCRIPTION CHANGE-CHECK GAGES

SUBJECT: SECTION 8C DESCRIPTION CHANGE FOR "CHECK GAGES" INDICATOR

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1992-93 OLDSMOBILE "N" MODELS

This is a service manual update to Section 8C, page 4 of the 1992 and 1993 Oldsmobile Achieva Service Manuals.

The following is to replace the general description for the "Check Gages" indicator.

When the ignition switch is turned to the "RUN" position (engine off), the "CHECK GAGES" indicator will illuminate until the engine is started or the ignition switch is turned to the "OFF" or "LOCK" position. While driving, the indicator will illuminate under the following conditions:

1. When coolant temperature exceeds 127 degrees Centigrade (260 degrees Fahrenheit),

2. When oil pressure is below 27.6 kPa, (4 psi), or

3. When fuel gage reads "E" for empty.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
