INSUFFICIENT A/C PERFORMANCE (INSTALL CONDENSER/COOLING FAN

SUBJECT: INSUFFICIENT A/C PERFORMANCE (INSTALL NEW CONDENSER AND COOLING FAN ASSEMBLIES)

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1992-93 BUICK "N" MODELS

THIS BULLETIN SUPERSEDES AND REPLACES CORPORATE BULLETIN REFERENCE NUMBER 331208.** THIS BULLETIN IS BEING REVISED TO CHANGE CANADIAN YEAR AND NUMBER FROM 93-0A-102 TO 93-1B-133

CONDITION:

--------- Some owners of 1992-93 Buick "N" cars may express concern with insufficient A/C system performance even after the dealership has determined the vehicle is operating to specification.

CAUSE:

----- Air flow through instrument panel may not be adequate for maximum A/C cooling.

CORRECTION:

---------- Perform all A/C system diagnostics as outlined in Section 1 B of the service manual. If the A/C system is determined to be within specification and the customer still expresses concern with poor A/C system performance, replace the following parts:

Condenser assembly - A/C #52467763 Fan assembly - engine cooling #22145081 Tube assembly - A/C receiver dehydrator #22592694

Notice: Some customers may comment on increased noise after the repairs have been performed. dealership personnel should review this possibility with the customer prior to repairs. If the customer expresses objections to the noise, engine cooling fan should not be installed. Not installing the engine cooling fan, however, may not produce maximum benefits from the repair.

SERVICE INFORMATION

Follow procedures outlined in Section 1 B of the service manual.

For vehicles repaired under warranty use:

Replace condenser, engine cooling fan, and receiver dryer tube assembly:

Labour Time: 1.6 hrs.

Replace condenser and receiver dryer tube only:

Labour Time: 1.6 hrs.
