CREAK CONDITION, FRT. SEATS INSTALL NEW DERLIN PIVOT BUSH.

SUBJECT: BUCKET FRONT SEAT CREAK CONDITION LOCATED AT INNER PIVOT BUSHING (NEW DELRIN PIVOT BUSHING)

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1992 J/N - CAR WITH "AR9" OPTION PONTIAC SUNBIRD, GRAND AM OLDSMOBILE ACHIEVA BUICK SKYLARK

THIS BULLETIN IS BEING REVISED TO ADD THE 1992 J SERIES MODELS

CONDITION:

---------- Some owners of 1992 "J" and "N" cars with AR9 bucket front seats may comment about a noisy creaking condition while making a sharp right or left turn on the driver's seat and the passenger front seat when occupied.

CAUSE:

------ Friction between the inner front seat back pivot pin and the nylon pivot bushing in the front seat cushion housing causing a creak condition.

CORRECTION:

----------- Replace nylon pivot bushing with delrin pivot bushing (part #16727273).

1. Remove driver or passenger front seat cushion.

2. Separate front seat back from the front seat cushion.

3. Remove nylon pivot bushing from front cushion seat assembly and replace with delrin pivot bushing part #16727273.
