Important: Failure to observe the following procedure when handling energy absorbers could cause personal injury.

•	Do not apply heat to an energy absorber.

•	Do not weld in the area of an energy absorber.

•	Do not attempt to repair a damaged energy absorber. Always replace the damaged energy absorber with a new part.

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
2. Remove the front bumper fascia. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Replacement .



3. Remove the front energy absorber to front impact bar retaining scrivets (2).
4. Remove the front energy absorber to front end module retaining bolts (1).
5. Remove the front energy absorber from the front bumper impact bar by pulling outward.

1. Install the front energy absorber to the front bumper impact bar.



2. Install the front energy absorber to front bumper impact bar retaining scrivits (2).
3. Install the front energy absorber to front end module retaining bolts (1).

Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 4 N·m (35 lb in).

4. Install the front bumper fascia. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Replacement .
5. Lower the vehicle.
