Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement.
  2. Pull the rear half of the water deflector away from the door panel in order to access the outside door handle.

    3. Object Number: 1939907 Size: SH

    Important: Pry the outside door handle rod retaining clip (1) using a suitable tool.

  3. Disconnect the outside door handle rod (2) from the door handle rod retaining clip (1).

    4. Object Number: 1939909 Size: SH
  4. Remove the lock actuating rod (1) from the lock cylinder (2) (if fitted).

    5. Object Number: 1939908 Size: SH

    Important: Remove the rubber blanking grommet to allow access to the retaining bolt (1).

  5. Remove the outside door handle to door retaining bolt (1).

    6. Object Number: 1939910 Size: SH

    Important: Replace the gaskets (2, 3) when replacing the outside door handle (1, 4).

  6. Remove the outside door handle (1, 4) from the door.

    7. Object Number: 1939906 Size: SH

    Important: The outside door handle retaining nut (1) must be loosened to remove the inner part of the outer door handle.

  7. Loosen the outside door handle retaining nut (1).
  8. Push on the outside door handle retaining nut and stud to relieve pressure between the inner part of the door handle and the door.

    Important: Push the retaining tabs (2) inwards to release them then push the inner handle towards the front of the car to release the retaining pin (1).

  9. Remove the inner part of the outer door handle (1, 2).

  10. Remove the inner part (1) of the outer door handle from the door (2).

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1939912 Size: SH
  1. Position the inner part (1) of the outer door handle to the door (2).

    2. Object Number: 1939911 Size: SH

    Important: Lock in the retaining pin (1) by pushing towards the rear of the car then outwards to engage the retaining tabs (2).

  2. Position the inner part of the outer door handle (1, 2).

    3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1939906 Size: SH

    Important: The outside door handle retaining nut (1) must be tightened to fasten the inner part of the outer door handle.

  3. Tighten the outside door handle retaining nut (1).

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 4 N-m (35 lb in).


    Object Number: 1939910 Size: SH

    Important: Replace the gaskets (2, 3) when replacing the outside door handle (1, 4).

  4. Position the outside door handle (1,4) to the door.

    5. Object Number: 1939908 Size: SH
  5. Install the outside door handle to door and retaining bolt (1).

    6. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 4 N-m (35 lb in).

    Important: Attach the door handle rod retaining clip (1) by pressing clip together over door handle rod until an audible click is heard.

  6. Connect the outside door handle rod (2) to the door handle rod retaining clip (1).

    7. Object Number: 1939909 Size: SH

    Important: The lock actuating rod (2) pushes into the lock cylinder retaining clip (1).

  7. Install the lock actuating rod (1) to the lock cylinder retaining clip (2) (if fitted).

    8. Important: Firmly press the water deflector where adhesive is applied to make sure water tight bond.

  8. Install the rear half of the water deflector to the door panel.
  9. Install the rubber blanking grommet.
  10. Install the door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement.
