Heated Oxygen Sensor Replacement - Bank 2 Sensor 2 NT3

Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Safety Glasses Caution in the Preface section.

    Caution: Refer to Vehicle Lifting Caution in the Preface section.

  1. Ignition Off.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.

  3. Object Number: 1949882  Size: SH
  4. Disconnect the heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) electrical connector (1) from the wiring harness.
  5. Remove the HO2S wiring harness from the transmission case.
  6. Notice: Refer to Heated Oxygen and Oxygen Sensor Notice in the Preface section.

    Important: Removal of the oxygen sensor is easier when the engine temperature is above 48°C (120°F).

  7. Remove the HO2S (1) from the exhaust pipe.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Refer to Component Fastener Tightening Notice in the Preface section.

    Important: New oxygen sensors should have a special anti-seize compound already applied to the sensor threads. If you are installing the original sensor, apply an approved anti-seize compound to the sensor threads.

  1. Install the HO2S.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the HO2S to 40 N·m (30 lb ft).

  3. Connect the HO2S electrical connector (1) to the harness connector.
  4. Install the HO2S wiring harness to the transmission case.
  5. Lower the vehicle.

Heated Oxygen Sensor Replacement - Bank 2 Sensor 2 NT4

Removal Procedure

  1. Ignition OFF.
  2. Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.

  3. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.
  4. Caution: Refer to Safety Glasses Caution in the Preface section.

    Caution: Refer to Vehicle Lifting Caution in the Preface section.

  5. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.

  7. Disconnect the heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) electrical connector (1) from the wiring harness.
  8. Detach the HO2S wiring harness from the transmission case.
  9. Notice: Refer to Heated Oxygen and Oxygen Sensor Notice in the Preface section.

  10. Remove the HO2S  (1) from the exhaust pipe.

Installation Procedure

    Tighten the HO2S to 40 N·m (30 lb ft).

  4. Attach the HO2S wiring harness to the transmission case.
  5. Lower the vehicle.
  6. Connect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.
