Notice: Refer to Test Probe Notice in the Preface section.

1. Select the V (DC) (3) position on the Digital Multimeter (1) .
2. Connect the positive lead of the Digital Multimeter (1) to one end of the circuit to be tested (5).
3. Connect the negative lead of the Digital Multimeter to a known good ground (6).
4. Turn the ignition to the ON position and operate all accessories except the suspect circuit, refer wiring diagram if necessary.
5. If the Digital Multimeter (1) displays voltage greater than 1 volt (2), there is a short to voltage in the circuit (4).
