Infotainment Unit Replacement

Important: If the infotainment unit vehicle identification number (VIN) does not match the VIN transmitted by the body control module (BCM) the system will enter theft mode and will be locked. After the installation of a new infotainment unit, the infotainment unit will auto-learn the VIN that is transmitted by the BCM.

Important: If either the infotainment unit or infotainment facia is being independently replaced it will be necessary to perform the "Facia link to IRC" procedure. If both infotainment facia and infotainment unit are new and are replaced together they will auto-link.

Important: If the vehicle has a rear seat entertainment (RSE) system installed it will be necessary to enable the rear auxiliary input to allow RSE video to play through the infotainment unit display. The default setting is Rear Auxiliary Off.

If the infotainment unit is replaced, the following procedures must be performed:

  1. Audio system reprogramming - Refer to Service Programming System (SPS) .
  2. Facia link to IRC procedure.
