Engine Ground Strap Replacement 3.6L Engine

Removal Procedure
  1. Ignition OFF.

    2. Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.

  2. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.

    3. Object Number: 2180630 Size: SH
  3. Remove the engine ground strap to the right side engine cylinder head retaining nut (1).
  4. Remove the engine ground strap to ABS module mounting bracket retaining bolt (2).
  5. Remove the engine ground strap from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 2180630 Size: SH
  1. Position the engine ground strap to the correct position.

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  2. Install the engine ground strap to ABS module mounting bracket retaining bolt (2).

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 15 N·m(11 lb ft).

  3. Install the engine ground strap to the right side engine cylinder head retaining nut (1).

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 25 N·m(18 lb ft).

    Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.

  4. Connect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.

Engine Ground Strap Replacement 6.0L Engine

Removal Procedure
  1. Ignition OFF.

    2. Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.

  2. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.

    3. Object Number: 2180631 Size: SH
  3. Remove the engine ground strap to the right side engine cylinder head retaining nut (1).
  4. Remove the engine ground strap to ABS module mounting bracket retaining bolt (2).
  5. Remove the engine ground strap from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 2180631 Size: SH
  1. Position the engine ground strap to the correct position.

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  2. Install the engine ground strap to ABS module mounting bracket retaining bolt (2).

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 15 N·m(11 lb ft).

  3. Install the engine ground strap to the right side engine cylinder head retaining nut (1).

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 25 N·m(18 lb ft).

    Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.

  4. Connect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.
