With a fused jumper wire, connect terminals 4 and 5 of the fuel pump connector together.

Did the Low Fuel Indicator turn ON?

Using a multimeter, test terminal 4 of the fuel pump connector for continuity to ground. Refer to Testing for Continuity .

Is ground present?

Using a multimeter, test for continuity between terminal 5 of the fuel pump connector and terminal B14 of the instrument cluster. Refer to Testing for Continuity .

Is continuity present?

Go to Step 8

Repair the open in ground circuit between terminal 4 of the fuel pump and ground 302. Refer to Wiring Repairs .

Did you find and complete the repair?

Go to Step 9

Repair the open in signal circuit between terminal 5 of the fuel pump connector and terminal B14 of the instrument cluster. Refer to Wiring Repairs .

Replace the fuel pump assembly. Refer to one of the following:

    •  Fuel Pump Replacement for the 1.4L engine.
    •  Fuel Pump Replacement for the 1.6L engine.
    •  Fuel Pump Replacement for the 1.8L (L79) engine.
    •  Fuel Pump Replacement for the 1.8L (LDA) engine.
    •  Fuel Pump Replacement for the 2.0L engine.
