Clutch Pressure Plate Adjustment 6.0L Engine

Important: Before installing the pressure plate, the self adjusting feature must be pre-set.

1. Place the flat side of the clutch driven plate downwards on the flat press plates, then place the pressure plate assembly over it.

Notice: Refer to General Repair Instructions in the Preface section.

2. Using a hydraulic press, compress the pressure plate diaphragm spring until tension is release from the clutch driven plate.
3. Hold using a suitable tool against the step adjusting ring tension spring stop in front of the adjusting ring tension spring.




Important: Do not force the adjustment ring as damage to the pressure plate may occur.

Important: Minimal effort is required to rotate the adjustment ring.

4. Using a suitable tool, rotate the stepped adjusting ring counterclockwise, compressing the tension springs, until the adjusting ring steps are fully adjusted out, then continue to hold in position.
5. Release the press pressure from the pressure plate diaphragm spring fingers.
6. Release the adjusting ring tension spring stops.
7. Remove the pressure plate from the press.
