Circuit/System Verification

Park brake OFF, transmission in REVERSE, using the park assist switch enable and disable the park assist system. Verify the park assist system enables and disables respectively.

Circuit/System Testing

  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the park assist switch.
  2. Test for less than 5 Ω between the ground circuit terminal 2 and ground.
  3. If greater than the specified range, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the park assist switch.
  4. Ignition ON, transmission in REVERSE, test for 4.0 - 6.0 V between the voltage reference circuit terminal 5 and ground.
  5. If greater than the specified range, test the voltage reference circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the object alarm module.
If less than the specified range, test the voltage reference circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the object alarm module.
  6. If the circuit tests normal, replace the park assist switch.
