    Object Number: 1950986  Size: SH

    Important: The flexplate (1) will not initially seat against the crankshaft flange, but will be pulled onto the crankshaft by the flexplate to crankshaft retaining bolts (2). This procedure requires a 3 stage tightening process.

  1. Install the flexplate (1).
  2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1950869  Size: SH

    Important: Make sure the teeth of the J 42386-A J 42386-A (1) engage correctly with the ring gear teeth, before tightening the flexplate bolts.

  3. Install the J 42386-A J 42386-A (1), using the two starter motor to cylinder block retaining bolts (2).

  4. Object Number: 1950984  Size: SH
  5. Install the NEW flexplate to crankshaft retaining bolts.
  6. Tighten

        • Tighten a first pass in sequence to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).
        • Tighten a second pass in sequence to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).
        • Tighten a final pass in sequence to 100 N·m (74 lb ft).
