Removal Procedure

    Important:  When a suitable hold open device is being removed or installed, provide alternate support to avoid the possibility of damage to the vehicle or personal injury.

  1. Support the rear compartment lid with a suitable brace.
  2. Remove the rear end trim panel. Refer to Rear Compartment Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.

  3. Object Number: 1937215  Size: SH
  4. Disconnect the electrical connector (1) from the rear compartment lid lock actuator (2).

  5. Object Number: 1937287  Size: SH
  6. Remove the rear compartment lid lock actuator to rear compartment retaining bolts (1).
  7. Remove the rear compartment lid lock actuator (2) from the vehicle.

  8. Object Number: 1937278  Size: SH
  9. Disconnect the rear compartment lid release cable (2) from the rear compartment lid lock actuator (1).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1937278  Size: SH
  1. Connect the rear compartment lid release cable (2) to the rear compartment lid lock actuator (1).

  2. Object Number: 1937285  Size: SH
  3. Install the rear compartment lid lock actuator (3) to the rear compartment (1).
  4. Important: Do not fully tighten the retaining bolts to the rear compartment lid lock actuator.

  5. Install the rear compartment lid lock actuator to the rear compartment retaining bolts (2).
  6. Do not fully tighten at this stage.

  7. Adjust the rear compartment lid lock actuator. Refer to Rear Compartment Lid Adjustment.

  8. Object Number: 1937215  Size: SH
  9. Connect the electrical connector (1) to the rear compartment lid lock actuator (2).
  10. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1937285  Size: SH
  11. Tighten the rear compartment lid lock actuator to the rear compartment retaining bolts (2).
  12. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  13. If re-programming is required. Refer to Control Module References.
  14. Install the rear end trim panel. Refer to Rear Compartment Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
  15. Remove the suitable brace from the vehicle.
