Adjustment Procedure -- Up to 09 Oct 2007

    Caution: Refer to Safety Glasses Caution in the Preface section.

    Caution: Refer to Vehicle Lifting Caution in the Preface section.

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.

  2. Object Number: 1955533  Size: SH
  3. Loosen the I-Link adjuster lock nuts (1 and 3) from the I-Link adjuster (2).
  4. Remove the safety stands.
  5. Lower the vehicle to the ground.
  6. Important: Before checking and adjusting any wheel alignment angles bounce the vehicle to settle the suspension to normal ride height.

  7. Bounce the vehicle several times to settle the suspension.
  8. Determine the actual rear suspension toe setting.
  9. Adjust the rear suspension toe to specification by turning the I-Link adjuster (2). For rear suspension toe specifications, Refer to Wheel Alignment Specifications.
  10. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

    Important: The weight of the vehicle must be on a level surface such as an alignment rack and on all four wheels before fully tightening the bolts and nuts that have been partially tightened. Failure to comply with this requirement may adversely affect the ride and handling characteristics of the vehicle.

    Important: Do not allow the I-Link adjuster (2) to turn while tightening the I-Link adjuster lock nuts (1 and 3).

  11. Tighten the I-Link lock nuts (1 and 3).
  12. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

  13. Verify that the toe is still within specifications. Refer to Wheel Alignment Specifications.
  14. Readjust if necessary.

Adjustment Procedure -- After 09 Oct 2007

    Caution: Refer to Safety Glasses Caution in the Preface section.

    Caution: Refer to Vehicle Lifting Caution in the Preface section.

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.

  2. Object Number: 2152668  Size: SH
  3. Remove and discard the lock nut (2).
  4. Important: Do not fully tighten the NEW lock nut  (2) at this time.

  5. Fit a NEW lock nut (2).
  6. Lower the vehicle to the ground.
  7. Important: The weight of the vehicle must be on a level surface and on all four wheels before fully tightening the nut.

    Important: The suggested method to settle the rear suspension is with the wheels on the ground, open rear compartment lid and support the lid with a suitable brace. Using your hands press down hard on the rear compartment floor and release a number of times.

  8. Settle the suspension.
  9. Determine the actual rear suspension toe setting.
  10. Adjust the rear suspension toe to specification by turning the bolt adjuster (1). For rear suspension toe specifications, Refer to Wheel Alignment Specifications.
  11. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  12. Tighten the lock nut (2).
  13. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 175 N·m (129 lb ft).

  14. Verify that the toe is still within specifications. Refer to Wheel Alignment Specifications.
  15. Readjust if necessary.
