Draining Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Safety Glasses Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1950820 Size: SH

    Important: Rotate the compressor (1) while draining to assist in polyalkylene glycol (PAG) oil removal.

  1. Drain and measure the PAG oil from the original compressor (1) into a clean, graduated container (2).
  2. Record the amount of PAG oil drained from the removed compressor (1). This measurement will be used during installation of the replacement compressor.
  3. Correctly discard the used PAG oil.
  4. Clean the graduated cylinder.

    Important: Drain and measure as much of the PAG oil as possible from the NEW compressor (1).

    Important: Rotate the compressor (1) while draining to assist in PAG oil removal.

  5. Drain the PAG oil from the NEW compressor (1) into a clean, graduated container (2).

Balancing Procedure

    Object Number: 1950821 Size: SH

    Important: If the amount of PAG oil recorded from the removed compressor is less than 60 ml (2.0 fl. oz), disregard the recorded amount and pour a total of 60 ml (2.0 fl. oz) of the NEW PAG oil back into the NEW compressor (1).

  1. Add back the same quantity of PAG oil to the NEW compressor (1) that was recorded from the removed compressor.

  2. Rotate the NEW compressor (1) three times to lubricate the internal compressor components.
  3. If necessary, refer to Refrigerant System Capacities.
