1. Power seats and memory recall functions are inoperative

Circuit/System Description

Whenever the memory seat module (MSM) is in the sleep mode, the seat interface module (SIM) must apply a voltage signal through the wake-up signal circuit to the MSM before power seat or memory functions are allowed.

Conditions for Running the DTC

The MSM is active.

Conditions for Setting the DTC

BB1370 03

The SIM senses that the MSM wake-up control circuit is shorted to ground.

BB1370 07

The SIM senses that the MSM wake-up control circuit is shorted to B+.

Action Taken When the DTC Sets

Power seats and memory recall functions are disabled.

Conditions for Clearing the DTC

    • The current DTC clears when the fault is no longer present.
    • The history DTC will clear after 50 consecutive fault-free ignition cycles have occurred.

Circuit/System Testing

  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the X3 harness connector at the MSM.
  2. Ignition ON, test for 8.5 - 10.5 V between the signal circuit terminal 10 and ground.
  3. If less than the specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the SIM.
    If greater than the specified range, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the SIM.
  4. If all circuits test normal, replace the MSM.
