Removal Procedure

    Important: When a suitable hold open device is being removed or installed, provide alternate support to avoid the possibility of damage to the vehicle or personal injury.

  1. Install a suitable liftgate brace to the vehicle.
  2. Remove the rear end trim finish panel. Refer to Rear End Trim Finish Panel Replacement.
  3. Remove the luggage shade. Refer to Luggage Shade Replacement.
  4. Remove the rear compartment floor panel carpet. Refer to Rear Compartment Floor Panel Carpet Replacement.
  5. Remove the load floor stationary panel carpet. Refer to Load Floor Stationary Panel Carpet Replacement.
  6. Remove the load floor front panel carpet. Refer to Load Floor Front Panel Carpet Replacement.

    7. Object Number: 2048402 Size: SH
  7. Remove the rear compartment floor panel carpet exterior support foams (2).
  8. Remove the rear compartment floor panel centre support foam (1).
  9. Fold the rear seat forward.

    10. Object Number: 2048403 Size: SH
  10. Remove the quarter upper trim panel to body retaining screws (1).
  11. Remove the rear compartment convenience hooks (2).

    12. Object Number: 2048405 Size: SH
  12. Carefully disengage the quarter trim panel to body retaining clips (1).

    13. Object Number: 2088980 Size: SH

    Important: Step 13 is valid for the removal of the right-hand side quarter trim panel only.

  13. Disconnect the right side quarter trim panel wiring harness (1) from the rear body wiring harness (2).
  14. Remove the quarter panel trim (3) from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure
  1. Position the quarter trim panel to the vehicle.

    2. Object Number: 2088980 Size: SH

    Important: Step 2 is valid for the installation of the right-hand side quarter trim panel only.

  2. Connect the right side quarter trim panel wiring harness (1) to the rear body wiring harness (2).

    3. Object Number: 2048405 Size: SH
  3. Carefully engage the quarter trim panel to body retaining clips (1).

    4. Object Number: 2048403 Size: SH
  4. Install the rear compartment convenience hooks (2).

    5. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  5. Install the quarter upper trim panel to body retaining screws (1).

    6. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  6. Position the rear seat to the original upright locked position.

  7. Install the rear compartment floor panel centre support foam (1).
  8. Install the rear compartment floor panel carpet exterior support foams (2).
  9. Install the load floor front panel carpet. Refer to Load Floor Front Panel Carpet Replacement.
  10. Install the load floor stationary panel carpet. Refer to Load Floor Stationary Panel Carpet Replacement.
  11. Install the rear compartment floor panel carpet. Refer to Rear Compartment Floor Panel Carpet Replacement.
  12. Install the luggage shade. Refer to Luggage Shade Replacement.
  13. Install the rear end trim finish panel. Refer to Rear End Trim Finish Panel Replacement.

    14. Important: When a suitable hold open device is being removed or installed, provide alternate support to avoid the possibility of damage to the vehicle or personal injury.

  14. Remove the suitable liftgate brace from the vehicle.
