Electronic Suspension Rear Position Sensor Replacement - Right Side HSV

Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
  2. Remove the rear wheels. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.

  3. Object Number: 1962724  Size: SH
  4. Disconnect the rear position sensor harness connector (1) from the rear position sensor.
  5. Disconnect the rear position sensor link (2) from the lower control arm ball stud (3) on the inside flange of the lower control arm (4).
  6. Remove the ball stud retaining nut (5) from the rear ball stud (3) and remove from the lower control arm (4).
  7. Remove the rear position sensor retaining screws (6).
  8. Remove the rear position sensor (7) from the rear suspension cradle (8).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1962724  Size: SH
  1. Install the rear position sensor (7) onto the rear suspension assembly (8).
  2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Install the rear position sensor retaining screws (6).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 5 Nm (44 lb in).

  5. Install the ball stud (3) into the lower control arm (4).
  6. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  7. Install the ball stud retaining nut (5).
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the ball stud retaining nut to 12 Nm (106 lb in).

  9. Connect the rear position sensor link (2) to the lower control arm ball stud (3).
  10. Connect the rear position sensor harness connector (1) to the rear position sensor (7).
  11. Install the rear wheels. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
  12. Lower the vehicle.
  13. Test the ESC System. Refer to Diagnostic Starting Point - Electronic Suspension Control.
