Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 2017396  Size: SH
  1. Lift the rear window shelf trim battery access panel (1) upwards to gain access to the battery.
  2. Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.

  3. Remove the battery negative terminal to battery negative post retaining nut (3).
  4. Important: Clean any existing corrosion from the battery negative terminal (1) and the battery negative post (2).

  5. Remove the battery negative terminal (1) from the battery negative post (2).
  6. Remove the battery positive terminal to battery positive post retaining nut (4).
  7. Important: Clean any existing corrosion from the battery positive terminal (6) and the battery positive post (5).

  8. Remove the battery positive terminal (6) from the battery positive post (5).

  10. Remove the battery retainer strap to battery retaining nut (5).
  11. Remove the battery retainer strap to vehicle retaining nut (3).
  12. Remove the battery retainer strap (4) from the vehicle.
  13. Remove the battery retainer plate to vehicle retaining bolts (7)
  14. Remove the battery retainer plate (6) from the vehicle.
  15. Detach the battery vent hose (1) from the battery (2).
  16. Remove the battery (2) from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 2024466  Size: SH
  1. Install the battery (2) into the vehicle.
  2. Attach the battery vent hose (1) to the battery (2).
  3. Install the battery retainer plate (6) to the vehicle.
  4. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  5. Install the battery retainer plate to vehicle retaining bolts (7)
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  7. Install the battery retainer strap (4) to the vehicle.
  8. Install the battery retainer strap to vehicle retaining bolt (3).
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  10. Install the battery retainer strap to battery retaining nut (5).
  11. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 18 N·m (13 lb ft).

    Important: Clean any existing corrosion from the battery positive terminal (6) and the battery positive post (5).

  12. Install the battery positive terminal (6) from the battery positive post (5).
  13. Install the battery positive terminal to battery positive post retaining nut (4).
  14. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 17 N·m (13 lb ft).

    Important: Clean any existing corrosion from the battery negative terminal (1) and the battery negative post (2).

  15. Install the battery negative terminal (1) to the battery negative post (2).
  16. Install the battery negative terminal to battery negative post retaining nut (3).
  17. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 17 N·m (13 lb ft).

  18. Refit the rear window shelf trim battery access panel (1).
