DTC Descriptor

DTC B1011 54: System Disabled Information Stored DVD Drive Over Temperature

Circuit/System Description

The internal diagnostics of the navigation module periodically test the DVD drive temperature.

Conditions for Running the DTC

The radio must detect one of the following:

    • Radio ON.
    • The system voltage is at least 9 volts and no more than 16 volts.

Conditions for Setting the DTC

The navigation module detects an over-heat condition.

Action Taken When the DTC Sets

The navigation system will display either of the following messages: "Temperature High" and/or "DVD drive over temperature".

Conditions for Clearing the DTC

    • The condition for setting the DTC is no longer present.
    • A history DTC clears after 50 fault-free ignition cycles.

Circuit/System Verification

Note: Allow the entertainment system to cool if the ambient temperature inside the vehicle is in excess before proceeding with this diagnostic procedure.

  1. Allow the navigation module to cool down for 15 minutes.
  2. Verify DTC B1011 54 is not set.
  3. If DTC is set, replace the navigation module.
