DTC Descriptors

DTC B1024 00: Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Temperature Sensor Fault

Diagnostic Fault Information

Important: Always perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle prior to using this diagnostic procedure.

Circuit/System Description

If the "Service Error/Contact Dealer" animation illuminates, it indicates a fault in the instrument panel cluster. The "Service Error/Contact Dealer" animation is displayed until you press the TRIP button. The animated symbol then reverts to the original trip computer display.

"X Service" appears at the bottom of the display and remains illuminated until the problem has been rectified.

Conditions for Running DTC

    • System voltage is between 9-16 volts.
    • Ignition switch is in the ON position.

Conditions for Setting the DTC

    • The instrument panel cluster (IPC) operating temperature is below  40 °C or above  85°C
    • The IPC has a short or open circuit.
    • The IPC internal temperature has exceeded the specified range.

Action Taken When the DTC Sets

The IPC will shut down or fail to display the correct information.

Conditions for Clearing the DTC

    • The condition for setting the DTC is no longer present.
    • The DTC can be cleared using a scan tool.

Circuit/System Testing

  1. Ignition ON, using the scan tool, verify that DTC B1024 is not set as current.
  2. If DTC B1024 is set as current, attempt to re-calibrate the IPC.
  3. Clear all DTCs using the scan tool, verify that DTC B1024 is no longer set as current.
  4. If the DTC B1024 is still current. Replace the IPC.
