DTC Descriptor

DTC B1008 42: Calibration Data Not Programmed

Circuit/System Description

When the ignition is ON, the rear object alarm module performs a self[dash ]test to diagnose critical malfunctions within itself. When the rear object alarm module has completed the power-up mode the rear object alarm module will establish communication with the body control module (BCM). During the power-up mode the rear object detection alarm module will check for a valid calibration data set, if no valid calibration set is found the rear object alarm module will set a DTC and command the object detection enable/disable switch indicator OFF.

Conditions for Running the DTC

Ignition voltage is between 9-16 volts.

Conditions for Setting the DTC

This code will set as current when the calibration set does not exist in the rear object alarm module upon start-up.

Action Taken When the DTC Sets

    • The rear object alarm module sets a DTC.
    • No confirmation tone will be heard when reverse gear is selected and hand brake is released.

Ignition ON, using a scan tool check that DTC B1008 is set in history.

If DTC B1008 is current perform the programming setup.
