Turn On the ignition with the engine OFF.

Does the battery charge indicator illuminate?

  1. Disconnect the generator connector.
  2. Connect a 20-amp fused jumper to the charge indicator control circuit.
  3. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.

Test the generator supply voltage circuit for an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs .

Replace the generator. Refer to Generator Replacement .

  1. Inspect the charge indicator bulb and replace as necessary.
  2. Test the charge indicator supply voltage circuit for an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs .
