Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .

  2. Object Number: 1768697  Size: SH
  3. Remove the cap and the nuts from the strut upper area.
  4. Remove the front tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .

  5. Object Number: 1768687  Size: SH
  6. Remove the brake hose bracket bolt.
  7. Remove the stabilizer link to strut upper nut.
  8. Remove the strut bracket to knuckle bolts and nuts.
  9. Remove the strut assembly.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1768687  Size: SH
  1. Install the strut assembly to the knuckle with the bolts and nuts.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the strut assembly bolts and nuts to 180 N·m (133 lb ft).

  3. Install the brake hose bracket to the strut with the bolt.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the brake hose bracket bolt to 15 N·m (11 lb ft).

  5. Install the nuts to the strut.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the front strut upper to body nuts to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).

  7. Install the cap to the top of the strut.
  8. Install the stabilizer link to strut upper nut.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the stabilizer link nut to 65 N·m (48 lb ft).

  10. Install the front tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  11. Measure the wheel alignment. Adjust the wheel alignment if necessary. Refer to Wheel Alignment Measurement .
  12. Lower the vehicle.
