DTC Descriptor

DTC P0601: Control Module Read Only Memory (ROM)

DTC P0602: Control Module Not Programmed

DTC P0603: Control Module Long Term Memory Reset

DTC P0604: Control Module Random Access Memory (RAM)

DTC P0606: Control Module Internal Control Module Performance

DTC P062F: Control Module Long Term Memory Performance

Circuit/System Description

This is an internal fault detection of the power inverter module (PIM). This fault is handled inside the PIM and no external circuits are involved.

Conditions for Running the DTC

    • The control module runs the program to detect an internal fault when the key is ON.
    • Ignition voltage is 7 volts or greater.

Conditions for Setting the DTC

The control module has detected an internal malfunction.

Action Taken When the DTC Sets

    • DTCs P0601, P0602, P0603, P0604, P0606 and P062F are Type A DTCs.
    • The hybrid powertrain control module (HPCM) commands the battery energy control module (BECM) to open the high voltage contactor relays.

Conditions for Clearing the DTC

DTCs P0601, P0602, P0603, P0604, P0606 and P062F are Type A DTCs.

Circuit/System Verification

  1. Test for HPCM DTC P0562.
  2. Perform HPCM P0562 diagnosis if set.
  3. Clear the DTC information.
  4. Turn the ignition OFF for 1 minute.
  5. Turn the ignition ON.
  6. Retest for DTCs P0601, P0602, P0603, P0604, P0606 and P062F.

Circuit/System Testing

  1. Test for HPCM DTC P0562.
  2. Perform HPCM P0562 diagnosis if set.
  3. Program the PIM with the latest software version and recheck for DTCs.
  4. If the DTC resets after programming or if the PIM already contains the latest software version, replace the PIM.

Perform the Diagnostic Repair Verification after completing the diagnostic procedure.
